Roo pack is great as is Atom Packs customer service

Having seen a few video reviews of these I ordered myself one late on Wednesday afternoon, it was shipped Thurdsay and arrived Friday.

Now to the pack itself it's the perfect size for carrying the essentials and i'll be using it on the West Highland Way. It would also be great when travelling for keeping money, passport etc and works well slung over your shoulder too. It's really well made and I love the simplicity of the design but also the little extras like the loops that could be used to clip something on with a caribiner and the front mesh pocket is great for quickly stashing something and the separate internal pocket with key clip is great for, well, keys!

Can highly recommend both the product and company and when it comes to upgrading my backpack i will definitely be looking an Atom Pack.

Seventh time lucky!

I have bought half a dozen waist packs over the years, and have found them a mix of too cumbersome, too awkward and/or too uncomfortable.

Then came The Roo (the 2.5 litre version).

I have been wearing it every day, both at home and at work (on a transport ambulance) for a little while.

It is so well designed I sometimes forget it is there.
Tomorrow it will have spare pens, spare medication, keys, phone, a headtorch and 4 energy bars - quite a decent load.
It will hang comfortably on the hips (low/loose or high/tight) or over a shoulder.
It will take a 500 ml bottle easily, with plenty of room for other stuff.
And the design of the inside and outside pockets, with their "retention straps" to hold things in place, is just neat!

I find the combination of capacity, convenience, comfort and "forgetability" utterly awesome.
Very much recommended.

Perfect hipbelt pocket replacement

Stupidly I bought a rucksack with no hipbelt pockets and nowhere to sensibly attach them. On a recent tour of Norway the Roo (1.5l) has proved to be a great replacement for that but also an excellent travel bag for easy access to snacks, phone, money, passports, tickets etc. Well made and with a clean, modern design, I wore it everywhere. The only thing is now I'm tempted to come back and buy the larger one...

Quite happy with the 1.5 Roo

The quality of this pack is absolutely superb! Which gives testament to the sort of quality you will receive in a larger pack from atom.

The internal divider pocket's exellent with a useful cover flap.
Very useful for hiding away money, passports, visas etc in a zip bag!

However the 1.5l fanny pack is not perfect for my personal uses.
I ordered the 1.5l which I feel is a still perhaps a little bit too big and would be better if another inch or so was taken off the hight and width of the pack.

I'm also not too sure about the front stretch pocket, I think I'd prefer it a little tighter (tho I can see it's possible to squeeze a lot of stuff in the front pocket so it may grow on me in time as the best snack storage option, but I wouldn't trust it for phones or things that can easily fall out unless the pack is quite full. Maybe I'll mod it later with a fastener as I don't tend to stuff fanny packs that full.

The depth of the pack is just right, but it would be nice if the roo came in a more svelte small size of 1/1.25l as I'd have probably swapped it out or chosen that given the option.

These are all however personal quibbles, the pack will certainly serve its purpose and is wholly worthy of 5 stars, it will serve my needs dispite being a little on the large size.

Top quality pack thanks very much!

Best bum bag ever...

and I had quite a few good ones in the 80s and 90s. My Roo matches my Atom perfectly as requested. Very comfortable to wear and extremely well designed. I wish you did a 30l version. Thank you Atom Packs, another amazing item and happy customer.
